CAPTIONS IN MY LANGUAGE
Messi or Ronaldo? I have heard this question a number of times in my
life and there is only one answer from my side…Both. I consider both as legends
and iconic role models. Be it in the talent they posses or the hard work and
dedication they show on the ground or the humanity outside, both have always
occupied a space in my heart. Being a football follower, I had watched many
football related videos during this lock down to kill some time.
Today I was watching player interviews and I selected a Christiano
Ronaldo interview dated four years back. But I was disturbed as the interview
was in Spanish and the only Spanish word I knew which I heard in one of the
regional comedy films was ’Señorita’. I just wrote a blog on caption translations some days back and it is
now time to put those into practice. I checked for subtitles and was sad to
find its availability only in Spanish. I don’t know why they need Spanish
subtitles for a Spanish interview and that too for such a well known
celebrity’s interview. Later I found closed captions were available and after
selecting that I got the option to auto-translate to my native language
Malayalam.

Nelson Mandela once said,”If you talk to a man in a language he
understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that
goes to his heart.” True and meaningful words -I understood that after
watching the video with captions in my language. I could connect well with the
video and interview. It was a seven question interview and was really good.
The whole process would have been better if the video up loader had
translated the captions to multiple languages as there is a global content in
it. That’s how they can make use of the website that I recommended last time.
Make use of such free translators and increase your video reach. For all those
who missed out my last blog, here is the translation website link : https://translatecaptions.com/
Hope everyone is safe during this crisis situation…#Stay home #Stay
safe
Great👌
